Gloucester Races announce 3 year partnership with equine insurance giant Amlin Plus

Gloucester Races, the new name for Point-to-Point racing at Maisemore, is delighted to announce the signing of a 3-year sponsorship deal with London based competition and sport horse insurance giant Amlin Plus.

Gloucester Races and Country Fair, in association with Amlin Plus, promises to be a fun-filled sporting event for the whole family this Spring. Set in the grounds of Maisemore Park on the banks of the River Severn with views towards Gloucester Cathedral, the event on Sunday 26th March from 11am-6pm will offer racegoers seven exciting Point-to-Point races along with 3 pony races.

New for 2017 is a charity challenge ride over the Maisemore jumps in aid of the Great Western Air Ambulance and the Ledbury Hunt, plus a host of other attractions including gun dog display, falconry display, hound parade, ferret racing, pony rides, cookery and butchery demonstration, a poultry and bee keepers exhibition plus other local rural crafts.

In addition to the racing and demonstrations there will be a shopping pavilion showcasing local and artisan food and drink plus a range of gifts, crafts and clothing, along with trade stands, food outlets, licensed bar, bookmakers and rodeo bull. There will also be additional entertainment for children including a colouring competition to design your own racing silk, face painting and a bouncy castle.

As the raceday coincides with Mothering Sunday, the organisers will be holding a “Best Dressed Mum” competition on the day. All entries will receive a free bunch of daffodils and the winner will receive a pair of tickets to Ladies Day at Royal Ascot 2017, with runners up prizes from Juice Jewellery in Ledbury.
